Our Junior Kindergarten class is offered five days a week in the afternoon. Classes are three hours long.
Junior Kindergarten serves as a bridge for five-year-olds that would benefit from an extra year in an early childhood program. It allows these children to have extra time to learn more about friendships, assert their independence, absorb and express their ideas, and become more confident as they move on to the next level of academic achievement. Junior Kindergarten gives the young kindergartner the opportunity to blossom at their own pace in a relaxed hands-on environment with individualized attention.
Children are free to make choices from either child initiated or teacher directed activities. Curriculum will cover areas including language, math, art, science, social studies, and dramatic play. Activities will include letter of the week, weekly cooking projects, homework folders, Òfeatured friendÓ, and show and tell. Your child will still experience play Ð based learning with an introduction to academics.
